This complex project involved decorating a new four-storey townhouse from top to bottom. The client had purchased furniture, lighting and art for the property and specified a preference for bold colour and pattern, so the focus was on developing a cohesive palette of surface finishes; bright, textural wallpapers, including silks, bring a warm, welcoming feel to the house as well as offering balance to the Nordic wood elements that were already in place. Bespoke wallpaper colourways – as well as a large-scale ceramic-leaf wall installation that occupies a double-height upper stairwell – were commissioned specifically for the project. In the open-plan living/dining/kitchen area, a random-repeating pattern of herringbone tiles was designed in order to inject colour and individuality to the ground-floor space.
